Frances
Kambo Ceremony
The Kambo Ceremony that I offer provides a safe and sacred way to receive a Kambo treatment. A Kambo treatment is a unique, natural, and holistic medicinal treatment that offers deep cellular cleansing, energetic healing, and personal empowerment. By cleansing and energizing the mind and body, Kambo helps refresh, realign, and upgrade the whole system of mind-body-spirit.
My Kambo Ceremony is a healing journey composed of Indigenous healing methods, earth-honoring rituals, grounding meditation, sacred music, and therapeutic sound. Through a combination of these elements, the ceremony offers initiation into new levels of personal power, health, and harmony.
My practice is comprehensive and incorporates Indigenous knowledge systems of holistic healing, an awareness of modern illness, and a focus on safety and comfort. In my practice, my intention is to honor the legacy of Kambo by administering treatments in a respectful, safe and sacred way. Throughout the ceremony, I use my skills, intuition, and experience to gently guide the process and attend to everyone individually.
Treatment Details
My Kambo ceremony opens with a smudging ritual followed by a grounding meditation to let go of the day and enter into the present, sacred moment. Then, in a sequential manner, each participant drinks two liters of water immediately before the treatment. Treatments are tailored individually according to one's state of health and personal intentions. When receiving the treatment, small dots of Kambo are applied to the skin. Within minutes, the medicine takes effect as it enters the bloodstream and travels throughout the body. At this point, blood pressure fluctuates, the heart rate increases, the body sweats, and eventaully, nausea sets in. Within approximately 10 minutes, the body begins to purge, which is a process that takes place on all levels – physical, emotional, mental and energetic. The medicine continues to have its effect for approximately 40 minutes, during which time one journeys through the challenging experience as if climbing to the top of the mountain. When the purging process is complete, the medicine is removed and the body is invited to rest. A period of rest is essential to the body's full recuperation as the journey excerts a lot of energy. It is also a necessary period of integration. Following the resting period, which may include sleeping, it is adviced to eat a nourishing, light vegan meal.
Depending on the need and personal preference, the ceremony may include an application of rapé (ha-PEH). Rapé is a sacred plant medicine from the Amazon and part of the Kambo tradition. It is an energizing powdered-tobacco which is applied through the nostrils. The application may be optimal during or following the Kambo treatment to help facilitate the purging process and enhance the Kambo experience.
Private Ceremonies
A private ceremony is an opportunity to receive treatment in the comfort of your own home or therapeutic space. Depending on the city, I may be available to host. Private ceremonies offer an in-depth healing experience with complete privacy, undivided attention, and a greater degree of comfort, focus, and freedom.
An individual appointment can last up to two hours including set-up time, treatment discussion, and the medicinal journey.
A private group ceremony provides an opportunity to create ceremony with friends and family. This experience can strengthen relationships, bringing individuals closer together. Up to eight people can form a ceremony, which would last up to four hours.
Kambo Medicine
Kambo refers to a medicinal, protective secretion from the skin of the waxy-monkey treefrog, scientifically known as Phyllomedusa Bicolor. It is a powerful, holistic, and ancient medicine native to the Indigenous Panoan-speaking tribes of the Amazon Rainforest. Kambo is not a hallucinogenic, and it is legal in the U.S. The native people regard the frog with great respect, never harming the frog in the harvesting process.
Among several Panoan tribes, Kambo has been used for many generations with great success and continues to be an important healing practice today. While they prescribe Kambo for various ailments, the three main uses are:
- to lift panema: remove negative, depressive energy, eliminate sluggishness, open up life's path and usher in good luck
- to hunt: heighten the senses, sharpen the mind, enhance awareness, reduce pain, increase energy and speed
- to treat illness: boost the immune system, fight infections, kill bacteria, eliminate viruses, detoxify, and more.
Outside of the forest, Kambo has been the subject of more than three decades of medical research. It has been found to be one of the strongest natural anti-inflammatory, antibiotic, antimicrobial and anesthetic substances in the world and one of the strongest, natural ways to empower the immune system and detox the liver and intestines.
As with venom from snakes and scorpions, researchers believe that Kambo could lead to treatments for Lyme Disease, Herpes, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Chronic Pain, Cancer, HIV, Parkinson’s Disease, Alzheimer’s, Depression, Vascular problems, Hepatitis, Diabetes, Arthritis, addictions and more.
Kambo is a holistic medicine. Different from a targeted allopathic drug used to fight a particular problem, Kambo addresses the body in its entirety, the physical, mental and energetic. Kambo cleans from the inside out. It helps restore the natural, intelligent systems of the body and it helps the inner healing response to emerge.

My Story
In 2009, while living in Brazil, a Yawanawá shaman initiated me into Kambo. The Yawanawá people are an Indigenous Panoan tribe native to the Brazilian Amazon Rainforest. They are one of the original founders of the Kambo medicine practice, and one of the few tribes that still practice this ancient healing method today.
After my initiation, I pursued further studies and learned to work with Kambo from both an Amazonian and contemporary approach. The contemporary approach includes an awareness of modern illnesses, a consideration of Eastern energy systems, and the use of auricular therapy, applying treatments on the ear. Today my practice draws on Indigenous knowledge systems, knowledge of modern health issues, awareness of energy systems, consideration of present-day needs, and experience gained from over five years of practice treating hundreds of clients.
Over time Kambo has contributed to my personal healing and to my journey as a healer. I feel fortunate to carry this medicine and share it with others. Since I started my practice in 2014, I have witnessed many people experience healing, transformation, growth, and empowerment.
My goal is to help clients uncover personal power and develop wellness. With that aim, I provide individualized treatments that address the specific needs of each client. I offer group ceremonies as well as private one-on-one appointments. My services are available throughout the year in Gainesville, FL. Seasonally, I offer ceremonies in Miami, FL and New York City.
